What would an interview for a sweatshop job be like?

This video was produced by War on Want as part of a series of web videos which satirise overseas sweatshops by showing how a job interview (or, in other videos, your first day at work etc) would be if you were employed by one of these suppliers. The film was produced as part of their campaign for a watchdog to be set up in the UK to prevent supermarkets working with supplies who abuse their workers. These videos work, I believe, because they take a lighthearted approach to a serious issue and play off experiences we can easily relate to (a job interview) to educate us about a situation that is less familiar (sweatshops).

Great Amnesty street art campaign

This is both an incredible creative and beautiful piece of advertising and an important issue. This is the face of Troy Davis, who has been on death row in Georgia for 19 years despite considerable doubts as to his guilt. This was created for Amnesty by German street art collective Metalgassi and is only visible if seen from the side; when viewed from straight-on you see nothing but bars. You can join the campaign at www.amnesty.co.uk/fence.
